Boost Effectiveness of your Daily Walk with Qi Gong Skills

For many years, whenever the seasons changed—especially when summer gave way to autumn and the weather became cooler—I often experienced low mood and a noticeable drop in energy.

This autumn (2026), I decided to combine Medical Qi Gong with my daily 30-minute walk. I never imagined that such a simple change could make such a profound difference. After practising it consistently for nearly three months, I feel healthier, happier, and more energetic than I have in years.

My mood is now more positive and emotionally balanced. I sleep more deeply, wake up feeling refreshed, and have much more energy throughout the day. Because I work closely with patients every day, I am regularly exposed to coughs, colds, and other infections. Yet over the past few months, I have remained healthy and have not caught a cold.

I would love to share this simple practice with you because it is easy to learn and can be incorporated into something most of us already do every day—walking.

The method is based on several key principles: walking from the Dantian, gently lifting the hips and knees, landing on the heel first and, most importantly, coordinating your breathing rhythm by inhaling for two steps and exhaling for one step. These simple techniques work together to improve the flow of Qi, helping to support both physical health and emotional wellbeing.

Medical Qi Gong is a specialised system of Qi Gong that has been used to support people living with cancer and other serious illnesses. It includes approximately 27 different forms of practice. I have adapted some of these techniques into an easy walking method that anyone can learn and enjoy.

Imagine turning your daily walk into a healing practice for your body, mind, and emotions.
